A personal branding studio  ·  Lisbon, since 2019

For the founder who refuses
to look like everyone else.

We are UniquePers — a 14-person writing room in Lisbon that turns under-the-radar operators into category-of-one personal brands. No LinkedIn hustle culture. No ghostwritten AI slop. No “thought leader” templates.

The problem, stated plainly

The internet is full of founders who sound exactly alike.

Every week a new operator posts the same thread: three lessons from a hard quarter, ten things I wish I knew at zero, here is what building a company really looks like. The cadence is identical. The hooks are interchangeable. The advice has been stress-tested by nobody and is recycled within seventy-two hours.

This is the failure mode of modern founder branding: not lack of effort, but lack of specificity. AI ghostwriters smooth out the rough edges that made you worth listening to in the first place. Growth agencies sell follower counts. Coaches sell frameworks. Nobody asks the only question that matters — what is the story only you can tell, in the voice your buyers actually want to hear?

We are not that. We are a small studio in Lisbon that writes the opposite of the feed. Every claim on a client’s profile passes a three-source verification before it ships. The voice is built from transcripts of how you actually talk when nobody is recording. The positioning is built from the gap between what your buyers are searching for and what your competitors are willing to say.

What we do, in three connected pieces

Positioning, Voice, Distribution — built as one system, not three products.

Most studios sell one of these. We sell the loop, because a position without a voice is a document, and a voice without distribution is a hobby. Every engagement opens with a paid 90-minute Brand Strategy Diagnostic.

  1. 01

Brand Strategy Diagnostic Flagship · 90 minutes

A paid working session with two of our senior strategists. We audit your current positioning through our proprietary UPV score (0–100, measuring how unrepeatable your narrative actually is), interview three of your buyers anonymously, and deliver a written positioning brief in seven days. $1,400. Most clients convert it into a 90-day engagement within the same week.

  2. 02

    Positioning

The story only you can tell. We rebuild your narrative around a specific buyer, a specific tension, and a specific point of view — not a category, not a tagline, not a mission statement. Output: a positioning brief, a personal brand manifesto, and the public-facing claims list that passes our No Hunch guarantee.

  3. 03

    Voice

A writing system built from your own transcripts, not a style guide borrowed from a SaaS blog. We deliver a voice dossier, a long-form essay to launch the new positioning, and a 90-day content calendar engineered for compounding distribution. Average client reaches 10,000+ relevant LinkedIn followers within six months.

  4. 04

    Distribution

Where the work actually meets buyers. We handle long-form essays, podcast guesting strategy, op-ed placement, and the slow compounding of a defensible body of work. No engagement pods, no growth-hack loops, no “viral thread” templates. Average LinkedIn follower growth for clients in months 1–6: 11.3×.

No Hunch guarantee. Every claim on a client’s profile — credentials, traction, prior exits — passes a three-source verification before it ships. If a claim cannot be sourced, it is removed, not softened. This is not a marketing promise. It is the operating standard of the room.

By the numbers, since 2019.

Before / after positioning

Three founders, three starting problems, three rewrites.

We do not publish follower screenshots or revenue claims — we brand the founder, not the P&L. What follows is the specific intervention and the measurable outcome we can stand behind. Names anonymized at the founders’ request; dossiers available under NDA.

Pre-seed fintech · Lisbon → London

From “operator” to the public critic her category needed.

Before. Five years building a B2B payments product. Profile read like a résumé. Inbound was zero. The buyer she wanted — CFOs of mid-market SaaS — was being courted by louder competitors with shallower opinions.

Intervention. Positioning rebuilt around a specific contrarian claim about treasury float. Voice dossier built from twenty hours of her own internal memos. First long-form essay placed in a tier-one outlet within five weeks.

Outcome. 14× LinkedIn follower growth in six months. Eleven inbound CFO demos attributed to the essay within ninety days. Series A closed four months later (we did not work on the deck).

Series A dev tools · Berlin

A two-time founder with one public story to retire.

Before. Two prior exits, both in adjacent infra categories. His profile still led with the older story, which was positioning him as a legacy figure in a category he had quietly left. New buyers could not tell what he believed in now.

Intervention. We separated the two careers into distinct positioning tracks, retired the older public story with a single honest long-form essay, and built the new narrative around a controversial opinion on platform consolidation.

Outcome. 8× LinkedIn growth in months 1–6. Invited to keynote a tier-one industry conference on the strength of the new essay. Closed two enterprise pilots within the quarter.

YC W23 · consumer AI · San Francisco

The technical founder who had no public voice at all.

Before. A research-engineer-turned-founder with deep technical credibility and an empty public profile. YC partners flagged it as a fundraising risk: investors could not pattern-match the founder to a clear narrative in the first thirty seconds.

Intervention. Voice built entirely from internal research notes and three recorded lunch conversations — no ghostwriting. Positioning centered on a specific, falsifiable prediction about the consumer AI category. Two essays, one podcast tour, zero thread-farming.

Outcome. 19× LinkedIn follower growth in months 1–6. Fundraising narrative sharpened enough that the round closed two weeks ahead of schedule. Featured in a tier-one tech publication.

Three of our clients sit behind YC W23 companies. Two are Forbes 30 Under 30 honorees. We do not name them on the site; we will, in person, after a diagnostic.

The room

A studio, not a marketplace. Fourteen people, two founders, one city.

We are not a platform. We are not a roster of freelancers we have never met. UniquePers is a 14-person writing room in a converted print shop on Rua da Boavista in Lisbon — eight strategists, four writers, two designers, plus the two of us. Every line of copy that leaves the studio has been argued over by at least three of those people before it reaches you.

Mariana Alves

Co-founder · Positioning lead

Former TechCrunch editor. Seven years covering infrastructure and developer tools before she got tired of writing about founders and decided to write for them. Runs every diagnostic personally.

Daniel Park

Co-founder · Distribution lead

Two-time exited CMO. Built the marketing orgs at his last two companies from pre-seed through acquisition. The reason our work compounds instead of decaying after the launch post.
